Mickey, Emily and I spent almost 7 hours at Scrap-A-Lot yesterday at our own private crop. We were all very productive and it was good to get together again and work on our scrapbooks.
I'm still working on my family reunion pictures from June - I've done about 24 layouts already but still have lots more to do. I finished up the family group layouts though - the last three are posted here. I did them all with the same coordinating paper. The rest of the album will be done using a variety of papers.
Although they weren't married till August, I called this Emily and Allan Taylor.
This is Mike's family.
And the Bournes - Mary is pregnant in these pictures - Baron was born in August. He'll be included at the next reunion :)
I like this pensive picture of me with two of the little people and included at least one representative from each of our seven children's families n the small pictures.

Oh Pat I didn't see this one and I love it! Gorgeous colours! The rest all all great too! Even more beautiful in colour!
oops I didn't mean colour I meant IRL!!
So are you in denial about the whole keeping-her-name thing?
It doesn't matter if she keeps her name or not. Once they have kids they'll still be "the Taylors" and schools etc will always refer to her as "Mrs. Taylor". Their christmas cards will say "Happy Holidays from The Taylors" unless she's super strict about it and writes "Happy Holidays Love Emily MacKenzie and The Taylors" like she's the lead singer in some 50's rock 'n roll band. Anyway..my point is, I don't think she'll mind that her scrapbook page says "The Taylors".
More power to you, Em. I miss my maiden name OFTEN. :-)
Sheesh, I wasn't passing judgment on Emily, I was just noting that Mum's layout ignored the whole "Emily MacKenzie and her lovely husband Allan Taylor" thing. I think sometimes I get painted with a whole lot of bad will I don't actually deserve -- but everyone probably thinks that about him- or herself.
that's funny, Jen, because I thought I was agreeing with you!
I'm DEFINITELY in denial about it, I guess!
Seems much harder to try to keep the name different from your family's than to just go with it....that was kind of my point.
Since when did JQ become Drusilla? It's all Jenny to me. As to Emily's name, I put Taylor on the page because with all the family group layouts being together in the scrapbook, the last name lets any non-MacKenzie viewer know which are my girls (non-MacKenzie names) and which are my boys (MacKenzie names). And when you consider that this album will someday likely find it's way into the Smithsonian, that'll be an important point. :)
Wow, you have been a scrapping machine lately! WTG
